Cloud Nothings: I Apologize

Being a tremendous fan of both Kevin Greenspon and Cloud Nothings, I jumped at the news that they were slated for a split on Kevin’s own Bridgetown Records. I have yet to place my order on said split (which, by the way, is only $8), but Bridgetown has posted two sneak peeks for our enjoyment.
Cloud Nothings’ “I apologize” reverts back to the thick bedroom fuzz of Turning On, dishing out typically catchy hooks and pop brilliance. Kevin Greenspon’s “Post-Life” is also a welcome surprise, trading his mostly ambient sound (see: “Threshold”), for some honest-to-god rock; armed with a massive wall of guitar and drumming help from Travis von Sydow (Ancient Crux), it hits like a cinder block to the face.
